Kids should be out riding their bikes. They should also make it home safe.
That's the whole idea behind our free Bike Helmet Giveaway. On Saturday, October 10, we're teaming up with the Escondido Fire Department to hand out free helmets to North County families.

Helmets are for kids only, and we'll have a range of youth sizes. They're available while supplies last, so come early and bring your kids so we can find the right fit.
Why a Helmet Matters
A helmet is one of the easiest things you can do to protect your child on a bike. It only works if it fits and they actually wear it. A lot of kids are riding in a helmet they outgrew a couple of summers ago, or skipping it altogether. This is a simple way to fix that before the next ride.
This event is all about the kids. If your child has been riding without a helmet, or in one that's too small, this is the perfect chance to get them a new one.

A big thank you to the Escondido Fire Department for partnering with us and opening up Station #1 for this event. Our firefighters and paramedics are the ones who respond when a bike crash goes wrong, and they know better than anyone how much a good helmet matters. We're grateful they're giving their time on a Saturday morning to help keep our kids safe.
