Honoring Hillel of San Diego

Honoring Hillel of San Diego

Today, we gathered to honor and recognize the remarkable work of Hillel of San Diego, particularly the chapter at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM). Since its establishment in 1992, Hillel has played an instrumental role in fostering a sense of community for nearly 3,000 Jewish students pursuing higher education in San Diego. This includes students from San Diego State University, University of California San Diego, University of San Diego, and CSUSM.

Hillel stands as a pillar in the San Diego community, offering invaluable tools and opportunities to Jewish students through a diverse range of programming. The organization is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of Jewish leaders, emphasizing the importance of identity, community engagement, and leadership development.

It has been an incredibly difficult time for Jewish people throughout the world. Over 1,200 Israelis were killed during the terrorist attack by Hamas, making it the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Hillel of San Diego, especially the CSUSM chapter, for their unwavering commitment to fostering resilience, unity, and support during these challenging times. Let us all stand together and continue to support one another as we navigate the path toward healing and recovery.
