Jacob Handy Day in San Diego County

Jacob Handy Day in San Diego County

Since 1910, more than 130 million young men and women have participated in the Boys Scouts of America youth programs- that build character development and values-based leadership training.

Out of all these millions of youths that have participated only 4% attain the Eagle Scout Status! Jacob Handy was able to achieve this as a Junior, in High School!

Jacob has outstanding leadership skills and has completed an Eagle Project in support of the neighboring San Elijo Middle Schools music program, by leading 14 Scouts and Scouters over the course of 64 volunteer hours to raise over $1000.

Jacob has participated in a 10-day backpacking trek covering over 60 miles and participated in Space Camp at the Kansas Cosmosphere where he learned astronaut skills, outer space mission planning, and piloted flight simulators this summer will do Open Water Scuba Dives at the Florida Sea Base.

For all of Jacob's incredible work in our community, it was my honor to declare this day to be “EAGLE SCOUT JACOB HANDY DAY” throughout San Diego County!
