Mobile Outreach and Wellness Vehicle

Mobile Outreach and Wellness Vehicle

One of the most rewarding and important aspects of my job is allocating funds to small businesses and non-profits in our district. Whether it's through our Neighborhood Reinvestment Program or our Community Enhancement Program, groups can apply for grants.

Earlier this week, I had the privilege of seeing one of the recipients of these funds that are now impacting our community in a great way.

Last year, we allocated $20,000 to Neighborhood Healthcare to purchase a Mobile Health Center vehicle to serve the Escondido High school district students at their on-site campuses.

Neighborhood Healthcare has served the Escondido Community since 1969. Their mission is to improve the health and happiness of the communities they serve by providing high-quality healthcare to all, regardless of situation or circumstance. In 2020, Neighborhood served over 77,789 patients in over 396,887 visits at 18 health center sites in San Diego and Riverside Counties. With today’s behavioral health challenges, Neighborhood is partnering with the Escondido School District to help address those needs. A Mobile Health Center will remove barriers to care by meeting students at their campuses for appointments during and after school hours.

It was truly an honor to see the vehicle in action and I look forward to seeing it out in our community. This truly will change lives in North County!

If you own a small business or run a non-profit, please don’t hesitate to reach out and apply for one of our grants.
