We know the threat of a fire is constant in San Diego County. While we've been fortunate that no major fires have broken out in the last few years, we must continue to invest in tools to keep us safe!
Last year, we allocated part of our Neighborhood Reinvestment Program budget to the North County Fire Protection District for a Pump Pod. This week, we got to see it in action!
A Pump-Pod is a self-contained unit that recirculates water used during firefighter training and pump testing. These units allow fire departments to train with the use of full-flow water, without wasting the communities’ water supply. A unit can pump 2,000 gallons of water continually.
