Earlier today, I was able to honor a very special group of girls! The Vista 8U All-Stars were the first team in the history of their program to win the State Championship!
To demonstrate how mighty these girls are, during the Semi-Finals at the State Tournament, they were Down 4-0 in the bottom of the last inning. They did the impossible and scored five runs to win and put them in the State Championship game, which they ended up winning!
I want to give a special thank you to all the parents for your time and support in ensuring these All-Stars get to their practices, meetings, games, district games, tournaments, and of course the Championship game! It wouldn't be possible without you! Also, to the coaches, including Manager Ed Anderson, and the entire group for volunteering and mentoring these girls!
Be it proclaimed by myself and all members of the San Diego county Board of Supervisors on this 16th day of August 2022 that they commend the Vista Girls 8U Softball Team and congratulate them on their 2022 girls softball 8U state championship and do hereby declare this day to be Vista Girls Softball State Champions Day throughout San Diego county.
