Homelessness is an issue of great concern in San Diego County. Whenever I meet with groups or people in our community, the most frequently asked question I receive is, 'What is being done about homelessness?'

Earlier today, I stood alongside Supervisor Joel Anderson, emergency personnel, farmers, and ranchers to announce that applications are now open for the Agriculture Pass program!

Homelessness continues to be a major issue facing San Diego County, with approximately 8,427 individuals experiencing homelessness across the County.

Earlier this year, I docketed a Board letter along with Supervisor Anderson to review the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department staffing and recruitment shortages.

Earlier today, I was able to honor a very special group of girls! The Vista 8U All-Stars were the first team in the history of their program to win the State Championship! 

Thank you to everyone who attended last night's Valley Center Traffic Town Hall. It was vital to have all the entities in the meeting and I want to thank our California Highway Patrol Officers, Chief Napier, Lt. Jim Emig, Undersheriff Kelly Martinez, and our County staff for being on the call.

One of the most rewarding and important aspects of my job is allocating funds to small businesses and non-profits in our district. Whether it's through our Neighborhood Reinvestment Program or our Community Enhancement Program, groups can apply for grants. 

Water, food, and shelter are basic needs for people to live. But in the modern world, there’s a fourth item for that list – electrical power. Technology runs almost everything, and most technology requires power.

A question I often get asked is, 'Where can I take my family member or friend who's suffering from mental health issues?' Whether you're suffering from a behavioral health crisis, or just want to know where there are resources, someone is available to help 24 hours a day.

In December 2021, SANDAG passed its regional transportation plan. As you may know, the plan called for $165 billion to be spent on public transit. In order to pay for their ambitious project, SANDAG wants to include three tax increases. Also, most controversial, they wanted to charge people for every mile they drive in San Diego County.
