In December 2021, SANDAG passed its regional transportation plan. As you may know, the plan called for $165 billion to be spent on public transit. In order to pay for their ambitious project, SANDAG wants to include three tax increases. Also, most controversial, they wanted to charge people for every mile they drive in San Diego County. 

I wanted to give you an update on the proposed placements of two sexually violent predators in Borrego Springs. We are awaiting a decision on whether Michael Martinez will be placed in Borrego Springs and the trial date for Douglas Badger is approaching. 

I wanted to update you as it's been a busy week and the safety of our community is in peril. 

My effort, in partnership with District Attorney Summer Stephan and Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer, to declare fentanyl a public health crisis was unanimously passed by the Board of Supervisors.

A lot has happened during my first three years on the Board of Supervisors, but there is nothing that I’m prouder to be a part of than One Safe Place.

On June 21st Craig Blas will be appearing in court. If you would like to see him behind bars, please join me and voice your opinion and send a letter for the judge's consideration.

According to District Attorney Summer Stephan, there have been many planned school attacks that have been adverted by law enforcement.

Emotions are, understandably, running high in our country, and as a society it's imperative that we feel safe at a grocery store, sending our kids to school, or any other daily event.

On Wednesday, June 9th, I held a Virtual Town Hall, with District Attorney Summer Stephan titled, "What Every Parent Should Know About Fentanyl." It was illuminating and I encourage every parent to watch/listen to the meeting and share it with their friends, neighbors, and co-workers.
